Baghdad Taxi

A few months after the withdrawal of the American troops from Iraq a filmmaker decides to cross the country in a taxi. From the far north to extreme south passing through the cities that featured heavily in Iraq’s recent dramatic history; Erbil, Sulaymaniyah , Kirkuk, Mosul, Tikrit, Fallujah, Baghdad, Babylon, Karbala, Al Fao and Basra. It is a long and possibly dangerous journey through a war ravaged landscape.

At every step of the journey, passengers from all walks of life and various religious communities board the taxi and talk about their experiences of life in Iraq today. As they talk about their daily lives, and reveal their hopes and their fears a clear picture of the post-invasion Iraq emerges.

This is a road movie unlike any other.
