America has the longest road network in the world. More than 6,5 million kilometres of wide, spacious but also dangerous roads. There are more than 36,000 deaths per year here in road accidents. And now, the slightest accident is filmed. Police cameras, video surveillance, dashcams.…these videos end up on the Internet almost immediately, where the most spectacular go on to accumulate millions of views.
We tracked down some of the people in these videos and listened to the stories behind the images. Samuel, 60, was exercising in his local gym when a car crashed through the window, showering him with glass. Jackson, 19, was left comatose after a minivan made an illegal turn and crashed into him. But thanks to footage of the crash circulating on the internet, the other
driver was caught in less than 24 hours. Ryan filmed a drunk driver who went on to cause an accident.
