We travel into the heart of magical Africa to discover a uniquely African approach to football. Whilst Europeans rely on tough training regimes, many African teams invoke the power of witchcraft and the strength of their ancestors to help them win their matches. In this film we encounter the players and the network of juju men who mediate between the teams and the spiritual world. We also meet the officials of African football who campaign against these traditional practices, emphasising that training, and a good night’s sleep is the secret to success.
In 2001 the lifeless body of a 5-year old African child was discovered in the Thames. Its arms, legs and head have been removed. For Scotland Yard, this discovery sparked the most intensive and most unusual murder investigation ever conducted.
