Riga, the discrete and hidden capital of the Baltic Sea Gulf. The port has attracted fleets throughout the region for centuries, in a crossroads between East and West, it’s a strategic position that made the Latvian capital a rich merchant town. However, the soviet army took control of the beaches during the cold war, they were considered a sensitive military area and access to them was forbidden for 50 years. It wasn’t until 1991 that the Latvians were able to enjoy the beautiful coastline again.
