Sochi: The Russian Riviera

We profile the town of Sochi and its inhabitants. It is here that Moscow’s elite come to party in summer. With a table in the clubs costing 1,000€, you would be forgiven for thinking that this was Monaco.

Sochi was first made popular by Stalin, who had a summer home here, and there is still a museum dedicated to his honour. Fans make the pilgrimage here to see how the leader really lived.

The budget for this Olympics is already 26 times more expensive that the games of 2010. However it seems none of this money is being used to compensate those who were forced from their homes to build the fancy stadiums. We meet one resident who is trying to fight the authorities.
