As migration dominates the European debate, far-right parties are gaining ground. Through deals with third countries, including Cabo Verde, the EU is pushing its borders further outward. Frontex is playing an increasingly important role in this process. The question of who is responsible for this policy ultimately leads back to politics. Because ultimately, the debate about Frontex is a debate about Europe itself.
