In this three part mini-series, we journey across America to produce three very different portraits of America today.
In Texas, over 10,000 people gather at a four day Redneck Festival to celebrate guns, polluting cars and games in the mud. The new redneck generation has also been able to count on a musical movement that proudly asserts their customs: country rap. In Los Angeles, City of Dreams, an unprecedented housing crisis has left many residents living in their cars. Violent crime is on the increase as gang violence results in 1,000 shootings a year. Meanwhile, across the whole country, as everything becomes supersized, a third of all applicants are now too obese to join the army. In supermarkets, overweight people no longer use shopping carts, but rather electric wheelchairs to do their food shopping.
Each episode works both as a stand alone film and as part of a series. A dive into the heart of XXL America.
