The M56 Highway can be treacherous, icy in winter and dusty in summer. Drivers must be very careful during their long journey of 1200 km between Neryungri and Yakutzk. The road may be a real ice rink since temperature can get as low as -65°C or become sludgy and as dangerous as quicksands.
But cold isn’t the only enemy. Bears, men and even ghosts are threatening these lorry drivers who always carry guns, vodka and superstitions with them.
