Gaudi: The Last Master Builder

Antoni Gaudí, by virtue of his originality and the power of his work, not only dominates the Spanish architectural creation of today’s artists but also that of his contemporaries.

This documentary looks at the different sides of one of the most undeniable geniuses of mystical art. We retrace Gaudi’s personal and artistic history with the help of experts on his work, who introduce us to the places that marked his journey: Reus, his hometown; the abbey of Montserrat and of course Barcelona, his preferred playground. The film also gives us an in-depth look at the spiritual dimension of an architect who put his art in the service of religion. It is in the Catalonian capital that we launch our discovery of the majority of his works, from the Casa Milà to the famous city-garden in Park Güell. These images highlight the colours and shapes in his architecture and the visual richness of his decoration.

The film also gives us an in-depth look at the spiritual dimension of an architect who put his art in the service of religion. The Sagrada Familia, inarguable evidence of the mystical power of Gaudi, and to which he dedicated his entire self, is certainly his purest masterpiece.
