A spectacular documentary series looking at the most beautiful cities in the world.

Pondicherry located in the region of Tamil Nadu is an exception on Indian territory. Former French colony, the city’s culture has been shaped by many influences. Dupleix, a governor general of the French establishment with Indian cooperation managed to establish a flourishing trading post. However this success aroused envy and a war between English and French broke out to find out which country woud be in control of Pondicherry. Nowadays, 5000 inhabitants have French nationality and a clear inheritance can be seen in architecture, religion and language.

Catholicism and Hinduism are peacefully coexisting, and it’s common to believe in several gods. From the sandalwood to Lakshmi, the elephant who keeps Ganesh’s temple, everything remind us that Indian traditions remains important.
