Legendary Homes and Hotels – Château Frontenac: Quebec’s Landmark

The Château Frontenac is both a symbol of Quebec’s identity and the world’s most photographed hotel. Perched for 130 years on the heights of Cap Diamant in the heart of the fortified city, the building, whose architecture is inspired by the chateaux of the Loire Valley, overlooks the St. Lawrence River. 700 people work every day to bring this 620-room, 20-storey monument to life. This legendary hotel has played host to a number of crowned heads, as well as major historical events: it was in one of its salons that the Allies planned the Normandy landings. Every year, thousands of tourists come not to sleep, but simply to visit.
