Behind these drastic budget cuts was Trump’s once loyal lieutenant Elon Musk and his new department, DOGE (the Department of Government Efficiency). This opaque organisation hired former employees of the billionaire, some of whom were barely 19 years old. The results of DOGE’s first four months were lukewarm at best, the promised savings having never materialised. In May 2025, Musk announced his decision to refocus on his businesses, especially Tesla, which has suffered greatly from his escapades at the White House.
Faithful to his campaign promises, Donald Trump has launched a mass deportation operation targeting the 11 million immigrants living illegally on American soil.
