Marine Le Pen’s Rise to Power

From her first remarkable entrance into politics in 2002 in the second round of the presidential elections to today, Marine Le Pen has ridden a swift ascent to power.

Today, she is closer than ever to taking the French Presidency. Her driving force is to “de-demonize” the Front National Party’s image. She event went so far as to kick her own father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, the party co-founder, for his inflammatory views.

But behind this gleaming image she has constructed for her party- is there genuine sincerity, or populist opportunism? How can one decipher her true intentions, when they are embedded within the extreme right-wing ideology of the Party?

We investigate her supporters, her inner circle, colleagues, but also her collaborators, who are far from the respectable image of the Front National that she wishes to portray.

Including interviews with close colleagues such as Florian Philippot, her right hand man in revolutionising the party, as well as her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen.
