From MYM to OnlyFans, online platforms have revolutionised sex work. ‘OnlyFans: The New Sex Workers’ invites us into the worlds of Betty, Anaïs, Noochka, Manon and Barty, all of whom have launched their own businesses.
Aged between 19 and 28, each of them tell us about their daily lives. We hear about the constant demands of their clients, which are unusual at best, and violent at worst.
Their reasons for starting out are varied: to earn money, take control of their image, rebuild themselves post trauma or escape themselves, and sometimes they regard it as a mistake in the midst of a complicated period.
They tell us about their relationships with their friends and family, their clients, and the online harassment they suffer on a daily basis. They confide in us about their relationship with their bodies and their sexuality. We explore this subject which is, more than ever, at the heart of the new generations’ most pertinent questions.
