Paris: Secrets of the Capital

Every year, the city of Paris attracts 30 million tourists. The whole world dreams of the eiffel tower and the Champs Elysées… But behind the picture perfect image, 50,000 people are working tirelessly – bailiffs, florists, drainage workers, security guards… all with a common goal: the keep the City of Light running. Beneath all the beautiful avenues are drainage workers, amongst them Stéphane and Rémy. The two men cover 2400km of underground pipes, surrounded by waste water. A demanding job.

We’ll also go behind the scenes of summit meetings giving the capital its prestige; fancy evenings at the city hall, hired out for private events. The city hall of Paris has been host to many soirées, and has a huge budget of 8 billion euros per year, making it one of the most beautiful buildings in the country. In this documentary we explore the capital’s hidden places, forbidden to the public, as we discover the secrets of Paris.
