Popeye: Confessions of a hitman

In Medellín, the former capital of drugs, we gained exceptional permission to meet and follow John Jairo Velasquez, better known as Popeye – Pablo Escobar’s former lieutenant. After confessing to participating in 250 murders and ordering thousands more, Popeye spent 23 years in prison before being released. At 54, he is now a star in his neighbourhood, but still a wanted man by his former enemies, making it impossible for him to move around without bodyguards.
