The Sailing City: Oasis of the Seas

Welcome aboard the ‘Oasis of the Seas’, the biggest cruise ship ever built. After two years of careful planning and monumenatal engineering works, she is ready to make her maiden voyage. With her 5,400 passengers and 2,000 staff, the ship is veritable floating city: there is even a park, a first aboard a cruise ship. The Oasis also carries 6 swimming pools, 13 jacuzzis, a mini golf course, a surfing machine and even a flying fox, the quickest way to get from one end of the vast vessel to another. To keep the passengers further entertained, there are bars, restaurants, a mall and even a casino.

We follow The Oasis over a 2 year period, from her contruction in Finland, to her first forays into the Caribbean. We visit the ship, from the standard cabins, to a 26 000 euro a week palatial suite, and we meet the dedicated staff, as well their sometimes difficult customers!
