The Secrets of Notre Dame

With nearly 14 million tourists visiting each year, twice that of the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame is the most visited monument in France. Stéphane, the real-life hunchback, is in charge of chiming the 13 tonne bronze bell.Joakim, with around 40 keys to his name, is the gatekeeper and Fabrice ensures that every detail is in correct place for the 2000 Mass services each year. From the architects to the maintenance workers, the alter to the confession box, we see the care and fine tuning that goes into the smooth running and preservation of this gothic masterpiece, over 650 years old. We witness a service from the unique viewpoint of the master of ceremonies and are taken into areas where the public is forbidden to feel its true magic.
