Cannabis has been completely legal in Colorado since January 1st, 2014.
Denver is the ’World Capital of Marijuana’. It is easy to see why. People come from all over the country to go on ’Cannabis tours’. Dozens of boutiques have also started selling countless variations of the drug – just like fast food.
Dealers have only benefitted from this legalisation. Some earn up to $5,000 a month. Many of them have left the streets and taken to the internet. Jason has made a fortune by offering his marijuana online as ’free with donation’.
The risks cannot be ignored. In March, one student fell to his death after eating a cookie with six joints worth of THC. Worried about Cannabis sweets; one mother says instead of warning her children about taking candy from strangers, the message is now: “Don’t take candy from your friends.”
Despite the inescapable opposition, the industry will generate Colorado $1 billion over the next year. This booming marijuana business will not stop growing.
The cocaine industry is one of the most profitable in the world. Selling at $1000 a kilo in Colombia, the same amount is worth €30,000 in Paris. Traffickers are constantly devising new routes and imaginative ways to outwit the police.
