Can anything be done to prevent potential pederasts from carrying out their crime? Is it possible to be attracted to children without ever having any intention of harming them? It’s estimated that 1% of men fit the diagnostic criteria of pedophilia and are attracted to children. What causes some to act on these feelings while others do nothing? For the past 12 years, Germany has run a free program to try to prevent pedophiles from becoming abusers. There are now thousands of men on the waiting list.
