Welcome to the North Pole

For centuries intrepid adventurers have set off to the North Pole, they have got there on dog sleds, by plane and even by ballon but this time the attempt will be made in a nuclear-powered Icebreaker. The beastly Russian ship has been made available to specialist tourist agencies who promise to provide ’the adventure of a lifetime’. And in this case it seems likely they will deliver, for 25,000 euros you too can be part of a handful of individuals who make it all the way to the ends of the earth.

Just 99 groups have successfully made it to the very top of the world but humanity is still drawn to explore this beautiful and hostile region at the planet’s extreme edge, but for the first time we will be able to join them on their quest. This documentary will make the journey along with the 150 Chinese millionaires who have chartered the ship for what they hope will be the 100th expedition to the North Pole.
