On the 22th of August 1933 Violette Nozière, an 18 year old only child, poisons her parents and then goes out dancing. When she returns the following morning her father is dead but her mother is just hanging on. Violette claims her parents were trying to commit suicide but the police believe differently and she is put on trial. The story would go on to serve as inspiration for a film in the 70s but why did Violette want her parents dead?
