Dicing with Death: Georgia

Each winter in the mountain region of Svaneti, dozen of villages are cut off from the rest of the world because of the snow. For authorities, tarmacking those roads is not a priority. Crossing this region has become for some brave drivers a way of making a living.

At the beginning of summer, during the transhumance, the landscape is not the same. Shepherds and villagers reach the mountains aboard old Soviet trucks. On the edge of cliffs, the journey can lead to the mythical Albano Pass.
