Cape Verde isn’t known as ‘Little Brazil’ for nothing. Just like South America’s largest country, the secret of the African archipelago is the people’s charm and optimism. Antoine discovers the natural beauty of its islands and meets the people, for whom happiness is a simple life close to nature. He visits a cassava plantation and shares a meal with local farmer, Mr Aniceto and his family. He also learns about the benefits of the salt made from Sal Island’s saline solution, and has a papaya massage.
Our guide discovers the secrets behind the grog recipe, a local form of rum, and learns a few steps of the Coladeira, a traditional dance that is the most valued aspect of maintaining happiness for the Cape Verdians.
