Venice Carnival: Behind the Scenes

For twelve days every January, Venice, the city of lovers, becomes the biggest stage in the world. Tens of thousands of passionate enthusiasts descend to show off their costumes and party. Brigitte and Philippe have been working on their new costume for a year. They hope to be photographed for specialist magazines or, even better, for the city’s postcards. For many of the “disguised”, Carnival is the opportunity to “go wild”, living the life of another, a borrowed mystery character. Visit the luxurious private palaces, where the most sumptuous and eccentric parties are held; hear from the firemen and police officers, who are on maximum alert during the whole period. Venice carnival, like you’ve never seen it before.
