A handsome 34-year-old man stands accused. Jamel Leulmi has been nicknamed “Essonne’s blue beard” by the press – accused of murder, attempted murder, theft and insurance fraud. But the bulky man maintains his innocence, and claims to be a victim of simple circumstances.

His first wife died after a bicycle accident in 2007 – but her mother suspects that it was no accident. Jamel benefited from a generous life insurance payout upon his wife’s death. Then Julie Derouette, a young, single mother also fell deeply in love with Jamel. She too signed a life insurance contract, with Jamel as the sole beneficiary. Then, she too fell victim of an accident which almost killed her. Two women who both fell deeply in love with Jamel and who both agreed to sign life insurance contracts worth several million euros – are these accidents really a coincidence? Or is the handsome seducer no more than a murdering crook?
