Easter Sunday is a time for joy and celebration. But not this year. In a tiny village, the body of a 79-year-old woman is discovered in her home at the bottom of the stairs. However, it was not the result of an accidental fall. The pensioner was violently beaten in the face. It is difficult new to hear for the people in the village, as the victim was very popular.

She was the widow of the former mayor. She was not known to have any enemies. Initially, the investigators assume it was a burglary gone wrong. The victim’s home is isolated and her car was found a few days later, burned out. The lead is quickly abandoned because nothing was stolen from the old lady’s house. But Marcelle was in possession of a small fortune: real estate, several vineyards and a full bank account. The investigators interview all of the victim’s family members.
