Criminal Investigations: Murderous Compulsion, The Case of Clélia Médina

A walker discovers the lifeless body of a girl in the early morning, half submerged in a river. The victim, 18-year-old Clélia Medina, was strangled, before being beaten in the face with a blunt object. Very quickly, the police learned that the girl had spent the previous evening at a disco. And according to her friends, she left with her ex-boyfriend, Julien Sailly.

According to several witnesses, the young couple were arguing violently because Clélia had learned that her boyfriend was seeing another girl. All fingers point towards Julien, particularly when digging the canal, the police find a car jack, which proves to be the murder weapon- a carjack that matches the model of the young man’s car. Julien Sailly strongly denies killing Clélia. And his lawyers point to the shortcomings of the investigation. It seems that a particular piece of evidence has not been investigated- and the DNA found on it belongs to a man whom witnesses say had been seen that night along the canal.
